Let’s be honest – your horse’s bedding shouldn’t be rocket science. Your horse needs a comfortable, warm, clean bed and you need a material that’s always available, easy to use and doesn’t cost a small fortune (because let’s face it we all know what they do in their beds and at the end of the day you have to throw it away)!
Equistraw
EQUISTRAW Bedding is made from top quality BRITISH wheat straw. Cut into a 2" chop then crushed in a hammermill to open up the straw, to access the more absorbent core, it is then processed to remove foreign bodies such as stones, etc. The chopped straw is then fed into the cyclone dust extraction units where the smallest dust, sand and soil particles are sucked away leaving only clean straw ready to be bagged, providing you with what we think is the finest chopped straw bedding.

WHY USE EQUISTRAW
EQUISTRAW provides a warm, comfortable, natural bed like conventional straw but is processed to give you the performance and ease of use of wood shavings. EQUISTRAW is dressed with a bitter tasting additive, which deters your horse from eating its bedding.
ECONOMICAL TO USE
Starting a bed with EQUISTRAW may only take as little as three bales for a 12ft x 12ft stable with rubber matting - far less than required with most other beddings and fewer bales are needed to maintain a great looking and comfortable bed. It can also be mixed with an existing shavings bed should you not wish to start from scratch.
LABOUR SAVING
As the straw is cut into short lengths, EQUISTRAW bedding is quick and easy to maintain with the use of a shavings fork to remove droppings and wet material. EQUISTRAW stays drier and lasts longer than conventional straw bedding. It can also be used for deep litter systems.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
The most environmentally friendly method of disposing of EQUISTRAW is by composting. EQUISTRAW on the whole rots down far quicker than normal wood shavings or similar beddings and the compost can be used on agricultural land, gardens or allotments.

EQUISTRAW is supplied on pallets of 30 x 20kg bales packaged in recyclable polythene bags which are convenient and easy to handle and can be stored inside or out.
